Here is a more traditional floorplan that still shows a significant amount of garage space for 4 cars, a porte cochere, a shed and a beautiful veranda with a summer kitchen. There is a significant amount of cost associated with these structures. Lets assume that this house costs, on average $130/ft to build. Each part of the home has a relative cost. For example, the kitchen may cost $250 to $300/ft. The master bath may cost $200/ft. The bedrooms would be more like $85/ft.

The wine room would vary greatly, based on the wine the owner collected. Just kidding. You are on your own with the wine. However, a case of Jordan Cabernet in appreciation to this builder would be OK! The garages would be around $50/ft and the porte cochere and veranda around $35 to $45/ft. In other words, everything has a cost. A home plan with alot of non conditioned space will logically cost more than one with very little. Again, I am not recommending you go one way versus another. I just want you to be educated on the differences.
